Maria, your transparency around this purchase was so lovely to read. I rarely purchase anything without having previously thought about and budgeted for, we are very similar in that way. I'm going to Denmark in a few months and I'm already creating a generic list of items I wouldn't mind buying there because shopping on vacation carries the memory with the item.

I'm so glad you could relate! I found budgeting for the shoes as part of my trip made it easier because I could never bring myself to drop that much money for them on an ordinary day. Shopping on vacation is definitely more special because of the memories attached - can't wait to see what you buy during your trip!

This was so great! I would LOVE to know where else you buy shoes from — I’m the same size and have such trouble finding cute shoes

I feel you! I find the hardest are sandals, flats and pumps - those you can't really adjust to fit you, unlike runners or boots where you can wear socks to make up for the extra room. This is honestly why I'm not a big "shoe person" and don't own a lot of pairs. It's been hard to find a decent in-between brand. I've either bought designer pairs in the past that carry smaller sizes or on the cheaper end, I've found that size 5s from Zara fit me pretty well. I'm very interested in trying Margaux, though, for next time because of their smaller sizes and I've heard people rave about how comfortable they are.

Loved another installment of this series! My favorite thing we did in London was also afternoon tea. I recall it being expensive and asking if we should skip it. I'm glad we didn't, because I remember it so vividly and how much fun we had. I will never forget when they asked us if they wanted us to pack up our left overs and we said yes. Later that night as we were going to eat our last few bites, we realized they had given us fresh pastries to take home.

I loved reading this! I had similar hesitations about doing afternoon tea (it was the most expensive meal/experience on our trip) but was so happy we ended up doing it. I really believe sometimes that you can't put a price on making memories. That's amazing about your leftovers! We took home a bunch, too, and snacked on them at night/the next morning.

Agreed!! I will always remember those two hours eating yummy finger sandwiches and desserts with my husband. I almost always remember our experiences the most.

I am about to make a similar very well-thought out and planned for purchase, so I enjoyed hearing a similar approach! Those shoes are dreamy! One of my closest friends bought her dream Chanel shoes last year when she was abroad and they bring her SO much joy 💕 It’s lovely to be able to want something for a long time and then acquire it!

So exciting! I can't wait to hear about your purchase. So happy for your friend, too! I think waiting for them for so long adds to the joy of when you do finally get what you wanted.
