Maria, thank you so much for your thoughtful introduction to your post. The more I sat with yesterday‘s article the more I felt like people were trying to decide who is worthy of having a Substack and who is not, the bottom line is that we all are! I’m glad to know that we aren’t the only family that’s been listening to tipsy on repeat! And you made the baby Longchamp at the top of my wish list!

Yes, exactly. I think there's an audience for everything. I can understand the author's desire for high quality content, but the thing is writing is so subjective. Some people like longer-form content, some people prefer listicles. I've always liked the approach of writing what you would want to read! x

There are a few brands who specialize in different nose bridges.

I love reading your lists personally, and agree that there's plenty of room for creators of all kinds. Also, clearly if listicles or recaps have an audience, it's the type of writing that lots of people are interested in!

Also, we need more Asian women to do sunglasses roundups because I'm always struggling to find good ones for my flat nose haha.

Thanks, Teresa! I love reading your roundups, too. You always have such unique recos! And yes to more Asian women doing sunglass reviews. I have the same problem with my nose, too. That's why I actually really love these Le Specs ones - they stay on my face better than my Celine pair that always slide down.

Just catching up to the discoursse, but wanted to say I agree with your take! Not sure if it's because of all the campaigns I used to write for as a copywriter and speechwriter, but I've found that my personal writing is shorter, more succinct, and often in list or bullet form. AND THAT'S OKAY! Not everything is for everyone, including that Feed Me post. Some parts resonated, and some didn't. I think the most important thing is being brave enough to create and put things out there because it can resonate with even one person, it's a success.

Thanks so much for reading and your thoughtful comment! I felt the same way - I thought the article was well-written, and some parts of it resonated with me and some didn't. Totally agree with you that what matters is creating something you can be proud of and putting it out there because you never know who it will resonate with.

Thank you so much for your introduction!! The post you referenced was the first thing I read when I woke up this morning and was a really unpleasant way to start the day. Your introduction was a wonderful palette cleanser lol.

There is room and an audience for all of us!!!

Also, the mini Longchamps are so chic. I haven’t purchased one yet, but it’s on my list!!

Glad I found your post this morning 🩷

Thank you so much for reading! I totally agree - writing is so subjective and there's an audience for everything. The mini Longchamp has really grown on me. Feels more chic than the crossbody bag I'm used to using on most days. x

That mini - so cute! Can it fit sunglasses and a wallet?

Thank you! I'm surprised by how much it's grown on me. It can fit my sunglasses, phone, and keys, but I have a larger rectangle wallet that's too big for it, so I usually just take my cards out. If you have a smaller, card wallet, it will definitely fit!

Please keep writing! I really loved this post and can’t wait to read more exactly like it! ❤️

Loved your list and your intro. I agree — I started a substack because it was something for myself that brought me joy. If others joined along the way and enjoy it too, it was a major plus.

My husband and I binged Presumed Innocent!! I was shocked once we finished the last episode. I haven’t seen the latest White Lotus trailer but so excited for the new season.

Also, I love the mini Longchamp! I’ve had my tote since college and bought another one when I was in Paris. I’m currently eyeing the “small” version of this after I saw it out in the wild.

Thanks, Ofelia! I've always liked the approach of writing what brings you joy and what you would want to read - I feel like that really comes across in your newsletters, too.

We're watching the last episode of Presumed Innocent tonight, eeekkk!

Loved your intro about yesterday's discourse. What resonated with me the most is what you said about Substack as a form of creative expression and being yourself!

I too can't stop listening to Too Sweet since it came out! And I NEED to try the Krispy Kreme dessert!!

Thanks for reading, Angela! It really is a form of creative expression, and the thing is, the more you write, the more you find your voice.

The dessert is amazinggg - you have to let me know what you think if you try it! x
