Some things I’m loving lately, and you might, too: a Valentine’s Day list, the official White Lotus Podcast, wearing jackets as tops, winter skincare, and more.
I need to listen to that HBO podcast because I am anxiously awaiting season 3 of White Lotus. I *think* I’m going to try to wait until the whole season airs before watching it because I want to watch at my own pace 😂 also, I LOVE your hockey mom outfit. You look chic as hell.
The podcast is sooo good!! I love all the anecdotes from the cast and deep dives into the characters. I admire your willpower to be able to wait for all of season 3 to come out before watching! Thanks for reading, and I'll take any compliment you send my way. You're the best. x
Hockey mom who loves fashion over here too! I have a puffer from Zara that is practically to my ankles (im 5’7) thst I wear to the rink. Like being inside a sleeping bag👏🏻
Yay, another hockey mom who gets it! Haha those puffers are so necessary for the cold rinks, and they can be stylish, too! I switch it up between my long puffer and my coat depending on if the rink has heaters, lol. Thanks for reading! x
This was such a fun read!! I will never say this enough, but all of your articles feel like we're chatting over a coffee or FT. You truly have a gift!
I've opened so many tabs to look into. You mentioned celebrity gossip and I've also been reading Gossip Time and it's a perfect relief. In case you're looking for another! Also, my husband and I cannot wait for the new season to White Lotus to drop. One of my favorite show to ever exist. Lastly, I did watch Babygirl and I enjoyed it! Curious to discuss if you watch it. I've been captivated by Harris Dickinson (side note - I feel like this name doesn't match him based on his acting lol) ever since I saw him initially in Triangle of Sadness.
Also, I own the reformation cardigan in brown and I want that red so bad!! Okay I'll shut up because I just want to discuss the entire newsletter lol
I hope you and your husband have the loveliest Valentine's day ❤️
Ahhh we have so much to catch up on, lol!! Let me watch Babygirl before we set up a chat date, so we can discuss! Gossip Time is also one of my faves and I was all over their Substack chat on Ben and JLO breaking up, haha. Celebrity gossip is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. If you love the White Lotus, I definitely recommend the podcast - it's SO good! Reading your recos on the brown Reformation cardigan is definitely influencing me to get it... I love the red! I hope you and your husband also have a lovely Valentine's Day (in Pariiii, eeekk). We'll chat soon! xx
Obsessed with your long coat! The whole look is perfect. Not extra at all! I need to watch A Real Pain…Baby Girl was good but definitely not for everyone!
Thanks, Krissy! I think I'm still going to give Babygirl a chance, and maybe the mixed reviews will lower my expectations, lol. Definitely recommend A Real Pain if you're into dramedys. xx
I came for the hockey mom content (also in this club, although not nearly as chic-ly as you!) and was so excited to see that you shared my Parent Trap post! Thank you so much! I’m also a huge fan of Merit…makeup question because Seventeen magazine never taught me well, where do you apply the bronzer vs the blush vs the highlighter on your face?! Hope that’s not too weird of a question!! Thanks, Maria-great post!
Not weird at all!! Honestly, I'm no makeup expert, and I was actually intimidated when I started using Merit because I had never used stick/cream products before. I would just obsessively study their Instagram to see how other people were applying the products and copied them, lol. Here's a reel that's very similar to how I apply them: https://www.instagram.com/p/C-X_SlrJDoe/?hl=en
I use the bronzer to contour right below my cheekbones, the blush on the apples of my cheeks, and then the highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones. Sounds intimidating but it was actually pretty quick to play around and figure out what worked for me. x
I'm glad I'm not alone! It's so hard not to compare when you see other people's highlights, but I kind of just accepted that this is my reality for now, so I might as well just try to make the best of it. Thanks for reading, Sallie! x
Ok the hockey mom look is not extra!! It looks perfectly amazing. I randomly went to my first non professional hockey game last night (college kids) and would have loved to wear your outfit!
I love the friendship article you linked :) one of my favorite activities with friends is an “errand date”. We would get breakfast or brunch together but then spend the day running errands together..groceries, getting flowers, dry cleaning. It’s so simple and mundane but such a fun bonding experience!
That is so sweet - I love the idea of an errand date because seriously, these days, it feels like that's mostly what I'm doing anyways and to be able to do it with a friend sounds more fun. And thank you for saying that - I don't always wear this to hockey games, but when I am a little more put together, I do feel a lot better! x
I too am part of the jacket as top club!!! In fact one of my earliest Substack posts was on this topic- it’s my faveeeee way to wear jackets! Loved this Maria xx
Thanks for reading, Sogole!! OK, now I'm going to dig through your Substack to find this post because I always appreciate your takes and can always find inspiration from them. x
I love the idea of going full length coat for hockey games. It’s so freaking cold in those rinks, I am BESIDE myself. This was so fun and good and I kept going off down fun rabbit holes (Merit, Jack Schlossberg, etc) before I could finally get to the comments. ❤️💌
Jennifer, I’m sooo glad you can relate to being in those cold rinks! I usually have to wear my long down puffer, but sometimes like to switch it up with the coat. Thank you so much for reading! It means a lot. X
Two things: I KEEP forgetting to re-order my Merit complexion stick so thank you for this reminder haha. Second, I’m super into the blazer as a top - I’m going out to dinner tonight and might test it out!

Celebrity gossip has been the best escape!! Looking forward to chatting :)
So many great recommendations! Sleepless in Seattle for V-day with some special snacks sounds perfect.
Thanks for reading, Sana! It's low-key but definitely my kind of V-day. x

Thank you for that first paragraph- that’s me thinking- here I am out here- yet again- doing the things… lol

Babygirl is worth the $5 Tuesday cineplex special but only for Nicole Kidman’s costumes
Hahaha OK, this is good to know!
