This week, I had my mind set on finally getting around to writing a Was it Worth it for what I bought in Paris and London but something came up that required a bit more urgency: The Aritzia Clientele sale, which, for me, started this week. As someone who likes to avoid buying things at full price, I always wait for these sales to come around so I can check off a few items on my shopping list.
I should clarify this isn’t a sponsored post, though I am using affiliate links. If I’m being honest, I go through phases of thinking I’m too old to be shopping at Aritizia. I’ve been shopping there since I was a teenager and am now in my late 30’s so I can’t help but wonder sometimes if I’ve outgrown the brand. The thing is, I always come back to it because it’s an accessible option if you like nicer things but don’t have an unlimited budget.
As much as I wish I were someone who could afford to buy The Row, Jenni Kayne, or even Reformation on a regular basis, like a lot of the fashion girls I follow on Substack, my budget is more realistically in line with Artizia. And I know the same goes for a lot of the women I’m surrounded by in real life. They like to dress well and shop modestly—they’re not spending all their money on clothes. What I love about Aritzia is that the quality of their pieces usually line up with their prices (and even better when it’s on sale.)
Two things to point out:
If you’re not familiar, Aritzia’s Clientele sale is usually a tiered event that eventually leads into their mass season sale, so even if you can’t access the discounts yet, they will eventually open up to everyone (sizing may just be limited.)
I always shop with caution because you can only return sale items for merchandise credit. There are some items, too, that might be marked Final Sale, which can’t be returned at all, so always double-check what it says on the page/the return policy.
With this post, I also feel it’s my responsibility to put it out there that you shouldn’t buy something just because it’s on sale—I’m saying this for me as much as for you. After my last trip and one coming up next week for a friend’s wedding, I’m trying to be as conservative as possible with my money. Still, I can’t help myself and have been browsing the deals non-stop, looking for some good finds.
Referencing what I’ve saved on Instagram as inspiration for the summer, I found some similar options on sale at Aritzia, which I’m sharing with you, along with a few other pieces I feel are worth owning.
I have several looks with black maxi skirts saved, so I’ve been eyeing this Babaton slip linen maxi skirt that’s currently 20% off during the Clientele sale. My girlfriend, Amanda, who was part of the previous tier, got this skirt on sale last week and confirmed she loved it, which is obviously influencing me more to pull the trigger. She sized up and in her words, the skirt is “so comfy!”
On a side note, she went into the store and had a very helpful stylist help her, which isn’t always the case, but if you’re near an Aritzia, it may be worth the experience to visit in person.
On the topic of slip skirts, there’s also this satin version from Babaton, which reminds me so much of the sold out OAK + FORT one I bought 2 years ago and have worn a ton since. Satin skirts are so versatile, and I’m always wearing mine with the Contour Tube Bodysuit (see pics below.)
Some inspo for wearing lighter neutrals. If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I’m a fan of Aritzia’s Effortless Pants, and I’ve been wanting to get a lighter pair for the summer. Other chic pants I came across: these, these and this linen pair.
Neutral tops to go with: 1, 2, 3, 4
Something I can never get enough of are classic black tanks and Aritzia has plennnty.
I bought this Sculpt Knit Criss Cross Tank several seasons ago and still wear it with my linen trousers. I also own this Contour Cami Bodysuit I would recommend, and love this one-shoulder version (reminder: bodysuits are final sale.) Very into the silhouette of this black top, too.
What else? I’m currently obsessed with longer vests with a higher neckline like these:
Aritzia has this version, which I think would look so good with high-waisted pants or jeans (try to get past the photos of the models wearing them with low-waist pants.)
That’s all from me. Let me know what else you’re shopping for, or if you have any favourites. x

I have always appreciate Aritzia - it’s not the whole assortment but I find with Babaton and Wilfred, they know where to focus on fabric or elevated construction to make a more high quality piece at a reasonable price point. Not to mention, they have some of the best range of neutral colors!
I love the Aritzia Effortless Pants! I find the drape on the crepette fabric especially flattering, especially in the white/ivory color. I just got the grey linen crop version (went one size up) and love them for summer! Thanks for the black maxi skirt rec. I've been on the hunt for one, but haven't found the right one yet. You'd think it would be an easy piece to find given how simple it is, but getting the right fit on my 5'3 frame has been tricky. I'll give this one a try! Thanks, Maria!
