Dress like Harper Spiller
Looking back at some of my favourite outfits from season 2 of The White Lotus.
It’s not often that I go down the rabbit hole of a TV character’s style. But I couldn’t help it when, in season 2 of The White Lotus, the fashion (just like the picturesque Sicilian views) became a big part of the narrative. And no one’s style captivated me more than that of sassy, passive-aggressive lawyer Harper Spiller, played by Aubrey Plaza.
Her style resonated with me in an aspirational sense, and I found myself googling what she was wearing at breakfast. On the beach. At the vineyard. On the night Daphne subtly dropped a juicy bombshell on her. Her outfits became my mood board for vacation-chic style, and I loved watching how they evolved with her character. She goes from prim and proper, buttoned-up looks in our first impressions of her as the uptight wife of a wealthy tech bro to outfits that are a little bolder, a little more daring, as the story unravels.
With the newest season of The White Lotus starting, I thought it’d be fun to reminisce about some of my favourite Harper Spiller style moments from Season 2.
One thing we know… the girl loves a good button-up for the beach.

At the beginning of the season, Harper’s outfits are a bit more conservative and modest, a contrast to Daphne’s breezy, designer resort-wear looks.
Then, we witness Harper’s style shift when she reluctantly tries to make an effort with her husband’s friends. Embodying a more carefree attitude, she steps out in a colourful Dolce & Gabbana tile-printed corset top and high-waisted denim for a double date at a vineyard. I’m not normally one for bold prints and colours but this outfit stole the scene for me.

While Harper’s black cross-neck halter dress didn’t get much air time, the style definitely stuck with me. It influenced me to purchase this Babaton Sculpt Knit Criss Cross Tank from Aritzia before a family trip to Hawaii, where I wore it with off-white linen pants and sandals (it’s still one of my favourite looks for the summer.)

What would Harper’s three words be that describe her style? If I had to guess: polished + classic (with a twist) + feminine. The show’s costume designer, Alex Bovaird, previously shared that a big inspiration for the character’s style was Audrey Hepburn.

Honestly, I’m not sure how this next season is going to top the fashion from Season 2, but I’m excited to see! Who else is going to be tuning in?

I started listening to The White Lotus podcast and it’s amazing!!! I also started rewatching it again because I wanted it all fresh in my mind.
Also, that posse floral dress is similar to one I saw last year that I LOVED and so sad I didn’t buy it. Hoping to add one to my closet this year.
